Feedback from Darrma Representatives
Mr Arman Shahril:
It's a very well research packet, really like the logo rationale and the presentation of the logo. Like the incorporation of prints inside the stationery as it can be seen applied throughout different collaterals. The prints also look very retro. Some areas to improve are colour combination and typeface choice. The typeface choice is currently too simple. Overall, it's a really good job, good benchmark as the first one, a good start to the presentation.
Ms Hanuni Halim:
Really like the colour. It's very vibrant. The combination of the purple and yellow is very interesting. Would definitely buy the tote bags. Agrees that the box packaging is something people would look forward unboxing.
Ms Natasha MD:
The overall package is really good, but the logo looks like two commas, so it reminds Ms Natasha of a publication company. Ms Natasha likes the overall packaging of my presentation. My presentation was very smooth, can say that it's the smoothest. The intonation and energy is good, works well when pitching in front of a client. Different POV from Mr Arman as she thinks the colours are really nice. Love the tote bags, would buy them. They look very refreshing, especially because canvas bags are more on trend now as people are more aware of the environment so it's a nice addition to the deck. Truly loves all because it looks so artistic. The price tag and box packaging are nice. Since online shopping the way of the future, can imagine people being excited to unbox the packaging and posting it on their tiktok. The packaging would be able to speak for the brand. T-shirt looks like any other tshirt, but everything placed together still looks fine. Shopping bag is okey because it compliments the tote bag that are already more colourful, so it's fine to tone down. The brick and mortar really stands out, can image it in Milan, but maybe not in navy blue, maybe in black. The copywriting on the window is really nice, the font and the content. The brand guide in done so artistically. The blue is refreshing and the yellow bounces off. Although blue and yellow usually reminds people of IKEA, but I've successfully made it not look like IKEA. Like how some of the pages are just really simple, it just works as a whole. The overall package is an 8.5/10.
REFLECTION
Experience :
My experience in this module was kind of unexpected for me. At the beginning, I wasn't really anticipating this module because I just didn't know how to design logos. I really did not like designing them because I felt like I just couldn't come up with any good ideas. I liked watching others create logos for brands and understand the meaning behind logos, but designing them myself were a different thing. Though this module didn't change my mind on that, I still think I had quite a lot of fun in this module. The part I really enjoyed the most was project 3 because I find creating collaterals in general quite interesting. I also really liked my colour palette, so I was quite happy being able to work on it. I also want to thank Ms Hsin for giving all the feedbacks and helping us to grow in the module. I think a lot of the feedback helped me identify the areas that I lack in and I should improve on. Overall, I'm happy that I got to do these projects during the semester. :)
Observation :
I notice that I'm actually even more unconfident in my work than I thought I was. Going through this module, I felt like I wasn't actually doing good. I felt like compared to my peers, I lack so much and have so much more to learn from them. A result to that would be me trying to do more and worrying if what I'm doing is right or wrong. I feel like I cannot really access my own skills properly and be able to see the worth of my designs. I think I gained a lot more confidence with the support of my friends. I was also quite surprised that the representatives from Darrma were quite accepting to my design since I thought mine was kinda "boring" hahaha. Not to say that I'm good, there's definitely so much more that I need to improve on, but I think I really need to start acknowledging my effort and designs. I think I should try to enjoy the process more than worrying about how it will be perceived.
Findings :
I find that I'm really not that creative in creating logos. I guess it's not really my thing. However, I enjoyed brand identity cause it's really fun to see how a set of guidelines, purposes, and all, form into such a big project. Honestly I find this semester quite hectic but slightly less hectic than I expected. With all of the modules taken this semester, there were a lot of things to do everyday. I think I should really procrastinate a bit lesser so my schedule is more arranged. Sometimes, my workload just pile together because I might not have arranged them earlier, so I think it's really essential for me to try arranging my assignments and other stuff better.
