FINAL PROJECT
For this project, we have to choose Zach King effects shot and the making of it. Mr Martin wanted us to watch Zach King videos and try to incorporate the effects that we like into our video.
Week 4 (15/09/20)
Ideation:
I plan to incorporate the part where he used the blanket to change his attire from the first video, and the second where he directly got his food and paid through his phone. My idea is to have my main character be late for school, so she has to quickly change out from her pyjamas by using the blanket effect from Zach King. Then, she'll walk into the kitchen and find that there's no food left, so she'll have to order her food online. She will be scrolling through a menu (with pictures) and then she'll get the food from her phone. She'll then pay by inserting the cash into her phone, and that will be the end.
3 Act Structure:
- Main Character (MC) is late for class so she quickly changes her clothes magically with a blanket trick.
- She then walks into the kitchen to find that there's no food left so she ordered her food online and grab her food through the screen.
- She then pays by inserting the note into her phone, and then rushes out the door with her food.
Plot Segmentation:
- Alarm clock rings, MC wakes up in bed.
- MC sees that she's late for class and she starts panicking.
- MC pulls down the bedsheet but she's still in her pyjamas.
- MC pulls it back up, and down again, now fully dressed.
- MC walks over to the kitchen, but she sees that there's no food on the table
- She checks inside the fridge, but nothing is there either.
- She takes out her phone to order her food.
- She sees her order through her menu and takes the order out from the phone.
- She then pays the bill by shoving the cash into her phone.
- Her phone shows that transaction is complete.
- She rushes out the door with her food.
Week 5 (22/09/20)
We have to create a storyboard for the project. I tried searching up scenes that would look similar from what I expect my scenes to look like online. Below is the submission of my storyboard:
Week 6 (29/09/20)
After consulting Mr Martin, I made some amendments to my storyboard. Basically, the flow at the beginning was trying to show that the MC was in a rush, but after that it slowed down, so Mr Martin suggested to cut some scenes that were unnecessary and make it seem like the MC was rushing. He also suggested to remove scene 3 and replace it with scene 2b since it was unnecessary. Mr Martin also said that it was confusing if I used online photos since every photo is a different person, so I changed mine to sketch.
Week 10 (27/10/20)
After reviewing the storyboard again, Mr Martin suggested that I remove shot 4 and 2, and add a wide angle shot after shot 5.
Below is the updated storyboard:
Week 11 (03/11/20)
I filmed the shots during the weekends.

Week 12 (10/11/20)
After showing my progression to Mr Martin, I worked on colour correction and adding the sound effects. Below is the second edit for the project:
Week 14 (24/11/20)
Mr Martin commented that the sound effect during the second effect (coffee) can be louder. He also said that the lighting was a bit off as some shots were colder/warmer/more neutral. Based on the feedback, I made my final adjustment. Below is the final submission for the project:
