LECTURES

06/01/20 (Week 1)

At the beginning of the class, Mr Kannan wanted us to group up. After dividing ourselves into groups, Mr Kannan continued with the lecture.

Mr Kannan introduced us to the module and also announced our first flip presentation which is about Manuel Lima's 9 Directives Manifesto. He briefly explained the topic since he wanted us to do more research on our own and be able to learn from it. He also guide us on how we could do our research and presentation.

13/01/20 (Week 2)

For this class, Ms Anis gave us a brief lecture on Saul Wurman's L.A.T.C.H. As the previous class, MS Anis only gave us a short lecture since the topic was relatively easy and she hoped that we could explore it ourselves.

She also helped us by discussing about the type of information we have managed to find and which L.A.T.C.H method is more suitable for them specifically.

20/01/20 (Week 3)

Ms Anis gave us a short lecture on CHUNKING. However, we didn't really go too deep into this since Ms Anis had to brief us on our two projects.

Mr Kannan also found out that we weren't really familiar with Adobe Illustrator so the majority of the time in the class was Mr Kannan helping us navigate around Adobe Illustrator.

29/01/20 (Week 4)

Since I didn't come for this class, I only referred to this to know what our final flip topic is about.

FLIP PRESENTATIONS

Week 1 (06/01/20 - 08/01/20) - Manuel Lima's 9 Directives Manifesto

06/01/20
After getting into our groups, my group started to look at the websites provided in the lecture slides. Once that was done, we discussed about which points we wanted to work on and then only we moved on with creating our slides.

08/01/20
We presented with the slides below :

Ms Anis commented that the presentation was good and she liked how our group mention about timeline under "embrace time". She also said that it was good to include examples so we could see how each manifesto is applied and the importance of it.

Week 2 (13/01/20 - 15/01/20) - Saul Wurman's L.A.T.C.H

13/01/20
We started creating the slides after reading up the articles in the lecture slides. Since Mia was absent, we inform her about the part distribution through text.

15/01/20
We presented with the slides below :

Ms Anis said that the presentation was okay, and there wasn't any more feedback given after the presentation.

Week 3 (20/01/20 - 22/01/20) - Miller's Law : Chunking

20/01/20
Just as the past two weeks, we did our research before jumping into creating our slides. Since Yaman was absent this time, he discussed with the group through text also.

22/01/20
We presented with the slides below :

Ms Anis said that the presentation was very good. Mr Kannan mentioned that our body gestures would show how nervous we are. He said that it would be better if we didn't move that much as it would distract the audience from the actual content. As a whole, he also wanted all of us to try interacting with the audience and try to learn from every presentation we give so we can improve for the future.

Week 4 - Week 7 (29/01 - 19/02)

29/01/20 - 11/02/20
For this presentation, we chose one of the few types of infographic to redesign. For me, I chose to redesign the second example for comparison infographic. I used Easelly to redesign it.

As there wasn't any icons or symbols that were useful to me, I tried to search online and import them in. However, I ended up opening Illustrator and did some basic illustration for the poster since I wanted the icons to have a consistent art style. The only thing I used from the web is the brain illustration.

12/02/20

We were supposed to present on this date but we ended up not since a lot of our classmates and Mr Kannan were absent.

19/02/20

We presented with the slides below :

Feedback

Mr Kannan said that we were very consistent with our work. However, he could still see that some of us were a bit nervous and times which would cause hiccups during the presentation so he encourage us to be more confident while speaking. Also, he told us that it would help us be more remembered by others.
